Equally amazing was the way they put together the walls. First they flopped the 2x4s on the floor. Next they nailed "plates" on top and bottom. That was it--they lifted the assembly and nailed it in place, and voila! there was a wall! Perhaps the most spectacular step was when they lifted a wall onto the foundation and the holes in the lower board dropped precisely around the studs embedded in the concrete. Let's see...my procedure would be: "measure twice...drill once...measure again...drill again..." |
